Habitat:Growing in an open, sandy loblolly pine (P. taeda) forest mixed with a few hardwoods. Associated species; Liatris elegans, Symphyotrichum concolor, Chrysopsis gossypina, Dicerandra fumella and Digitaria ciliaris.
