Taxonomic Notes:Before the description of Euthamia weakleyi G.L. Nesom, specimens from Alabama were often identified as E. hirtipes (Fernald) Sieren or E. graminifolia var. hirtipes (Fernald) Taylor & Taylor based on earlier treatments. With the description of E. weakleyi as a distinct entity, E. hirtpes is excluded from the Alabama flora occurring only along the Atlantic seaboard states.--B.R.Keener
